Shows & Judging

Our next Championship show will take place in November 2025 but, as from 2026, it will move to a new date in January, with an open show taking place alongside it.

Every year we also run an open show over the second May Bank Holiday, in conjunction with our famous rescue rally and fun day.  For show schedules and entry forms, please see our Events page.

The Scamp and Sasha Trophy is the Club’s annual points based trophy open to all paid up members. It is awarded to the dog or bitch who attains the most points at open and championship shows in a calendar year. Details of how to claim can be found here

Over the last few years, the Kennel Club has been developing a new system for the education, approval and listing of every level of judge, from those who aspire to judge for the first time at open shows, through to those who award Challenge Certificates and may then judge groups and best in show at championship shows. This is known as the Judges Education Programme (Breed Shows).  From 1st January 2026, all judges are required to be registered on The Kennel Club’s Find a Judge system, at the appropriate level for each breed they wish to judge.  Full details of the regulations are on the KC website.    Please contact Sue Hush if you have any questions and she will try to help!

AFTER 31 DECEMBER, 2025, OUR JUDGES’ LISTS WILL NO LONGER EXIST IN THEIR PRESENT FORM.

THE CUT-OFF DATE FOR A2 APPLICATIONS AND GRANDFATHERING IS 31ST DECEMBER, 2025. THOSE APPLYING FOR GRANDFATHERING MUST APPEAR ON THE A3 LIST OF 50% OF A BREED’S CLUBS, THAT IS AT LEAST 7 FOR GOLDEN RETRIEVERS.
